Thank you so much for sponsoring the Akron Pride Festival on August 26th! Here’s some helpful information to make our process smoother.
This pertains to sponsors that include a space with their sponsorship for the festival event. YELLOW / $1000 or more.
If you are entitled to a space with your sponsorship, and are not presenting on your organization's behalf, please let us know that information as well.
SATURDAY SET-UP
You may arrive for load-in on Saturday morning beginning at 6:30am. Note that all vehicles must be completely out of the festival footprint by no later than 9am so that we can secure the roads for marchers and festival attendees. YOU WILL BE ABLE TO DRIVE TO OR CLOSE TO YOUR SPACE TO UNLOAD.
EVENT TEAR-DOWN As you plan, please remember that no vehicles will be allowed back into LOCK3 entertainment space for load-out until approximately 10pm. (post fireworks) Complete load-in and load-out instructions (space assignments, access roads, check-in procedures, etc.) will be coming, as we finalize the festival footprint and assign sponsor spaces.
Parking in Cascade Deck through Lock 4 (sliding glass doors) level, and exiting through Lock 4 is recommended. Enter at Mill Street

There can be limited Friday Load-In at Lock3 because the venue will be used for a concert.

As a reminder: No tents, tables or chairs are a part of a sponsorship. You are responsible for items needed in your space that day.
If you’ve rented through us, all will be set near or in your location upon arrival.
Sponsor MOVE IN AND OUT
We are excited to be within one week of the 2024 Akron Pride Festival, kicking off on Saturday, August 24 with the annual Equity March at 10 AM!
Please carefully review this email, because it contains essential information for your planning. As a confirmed sponsor at the Akron Pride Festival, you have two options on when you would like to set up your space at the Festival. You chose this on the form that you completed when registering.
FRIDAY EVENING (BETWEEN 3:30 PM and 5:30 PM).
SATURDAY MORNING (BETWEEN 7 AM and 9:00 AM).
You will enter the festival through the GREEN CHECK-IN, accessed from the intersection of High Street and Bowery St. (See map, attached.)
Please note that High Street is one way heading southbound; you will need to turn right onto Bowery and proceed down the hill to check-in.
Friday load-in is highly preferred and recommended; overnight security patrols the festival throughout the night.
If you choose to set-up Saturday morning, please note that we have a short window for set-up and a narrow festival footprint. Therefore, we require vendors to find their spot, unload their vehicles, remove their vehicles from the footprint and find parking for the day, then walk back to their space to complete set-up. This keeps the street clear for arriving vendors during this quite busy and condensed time.
Please note that no cars may enter on the festival footprint after 9AM,
In either case, please plan out your parking for the day. The attached map contains not only marked parking and important information for load-in, but for end-of-day tear down as well.
In general, no vehicles will be permitted back onto the festival footprint until 8 PM. You may tear down early, but will need to do so on foot. Wagons are helpful.
Note:A few sponsors have other locations on the footprint, if you have been contacted separately please follow those instructions, over the ones contained in this email.
Preferred parking for our Sponsors will be the Children's Hospital flat lot that is at the corner of Bowery and W. Center Street (W. Center St. entrance. The same flat lot our FOOD COURT is placed in. You may exit and park in any other decks, (follow the green) or park in the designated area shown in the mapping below.
At 9:15 AM the intersection of W.Center St. and Bowery will be CLOSED, and blocked by a Metro Bus.
Please note that road closures and traffic patterns are subject to change and as always, we’ll need to have a spirit of flexibility and unity to make this complex set-up process as smooth and joyful as possible. We are so appreciative of your support for the Akron Pride Festival, and if you have any questions between now and then, just reply to this email.
