Hey all in the Akron LGBTQ+ and greater community! Let's engage and have some fun, since we cannot all gather at Hardesty Park this summer. We've created an APF Virtual Scavenger Hunt to get everyone up from the couch away from bingeing Netflix or Hamilton or any other mindless activity. Grab those cell phones and get out there!

What is it: A virtual scavenger hunt is just like the traditional scavenger hunt in that you have a list of clues leading you to a real object. Instead of collecting the real object, you snap a pic of said object and load that pic to an app online and compete with individuals and teams to find all 30+ items. Once you have found all the objects you can and loaded the pics online, the APF team will score the entries and declare a winner and runners-up and award some prizes.

We will give updates along the way! Work hard to get as many clues as possible!
Prizes include APF Merch, Drag Show, Drag Crawl and MEET and GREET opportunities for the 2021 Akron Pride Festival!

When: You (or your team) will have from August 14 to August 23, 2020 to search out the objects, snap the photos and upload them to the app. The APF team will keep the Leader Board updated on the APF FaceBook page here.

How: Follow the steps to get started:
Go to your favorite App Store and download Goose Chase to your phone or computer
Open the app and create a profile/account there.
Search for the APF Virtual Scavenger Hunt to download the list of clues
Put on your Pride thinking cap and figure out what the clue is leading you to.
Get out in the community and snap the pics of the objects best answering the clue.
When you have found all the objects you can, upload the pics to the Goose Chase app to enter the prize pool.
You can upload the pics, save and then revisit the clues and change pics throughout the Scavenger Hunt time window; no pics can be uploaded after 11:00P on August 22, when the APF Virtual Scavenger Hunt closes
The APF team will select the winner and runners-up and announce on the APF Facebook page; arrangements will be made to distribute the prizes

Where: The APF Virtual Scavenger Hunt list includes objects and sites that can be found throughout the greater Akron area. Some clues point to objects in Akron, some in other cities/locales outside of Akron, but all are within Summit County. Use your best deductive skills to figure out the clues and what best represents the clue.

Clues will be revealed on Goose Chase! Get out into the community, throw on some acceptable clothes for public viewing (PJs don’t cut it), and get out and snap those pics! Remember, this is all in fun and meant to pass some time outdoors during this pandemic time. Good luck and get snapping!
